My name is Andrew Austin and I’m currently a graduate student at North Carolina State University where my research focuses on software engineering and software security.
I am interested in the business software, software engineering, and computer security. I have professional development experience in a wide variety of languages including C, Python, and Java. I've spent the last six years building real software, first for Wachovia and then for IBM. If you'd like more information on my professional experience, see my resume.
I am fascinated by the histories of the United States and Europe. My historical interests range from the American Civil and Revolutionary Wars to the time of the Middle Ages. I am especially interested in the Crusades. With my appreciation of history also comes an appreciation of art. I specifically like cubists such as Georges Braque and Robert Delaunay. My favorite painting of all time is probably View of Toledo by El Greco. Luckily, I’ve been to many of the great museums of Europe and had the opportunity to experience many of these artistic works firsthand.
When I’m not busy with computers, history, or art, I manage to find time to play chess, run, and spend time on more important things.
